Art Aquarium in Wakamatsu

Just a 3 minute walk from Servcorp Nihonbashi Wakamatsu Building, an exhibition called, Art Aquarium, will be held until the 25th of September on the 4th Floor of COREDO MuromachiⅠ.

This contemporary art exhibition focuses on one of Japan's summer features, Kingyo (Goldfish). Not only is there the mysterious and natural beauty of Kingyo, the fusion of the latest technology is eye opening. Illumination, projected images and even scent is designed to highlight the beauty of Japanese tradition.

The artwork is more glamorous than ever and celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the living art exhibition.

Once you enter, first you will notice the sweet scent and music. Then as you go through a dark passage where a variety of Kingyo are displayed, you will see the breathtaking artwork full of beautiful Kingyo swimming inside the unique aquariums. The collaboration of Kingyo, Edo kiriko (special cut glass) and music are very entertaining. Especially the colour and flowy figures of various Kingyo are the most attractive feature of this exhibition.

Visitors can easily get there from JR Shin-Nihonbashi Station, Ginza and Hanzomon Line Mitsukoshi Mae Station, JR Kanda Station and Hibiya Line Kodemna-cho Station.

People in Nihonbashi have been appreciating the beauty of Kingyo from Edo period (1603-1868 CE). This summer, Nihonbashi and Muromachi area is full of Kingyo themed items such as large lanterns and even sweet treats.
