The Nihonbashi area is a popular commercial/business district with a lot of history and is right next to the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station. Development of the area has accelerated in recent years and large projects are still being planned for the future. Nihonbashi is famous for being the home of the financial and pharmaceutical industries in Tokyo and boasts easy access to Tokyo Station and some of the most convenient transportation facilities in Tokyo.

While the area is lined with well-established department stores, renowned boutiques and restaurants, it is also buttressed by a more everyday-working-class shopping / eating-out area giving the district a unique flavor.
